After being sidelined for the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury, Crimson Tide basketball player Darius Miles has been charged with capital murder related to a fatal shooting that took place near campus early Sunday morning.
A video was posted online Sunday afternoon showing Miles, 21, being led in handcuffs into the Tuscaloosa County Jails. Michael Lynn Davis, 20, of Maryland, was also charged in the fatal shooting at a popular bar area known as The Strip, Patch reported.

Police responded to the Walk of Champions area around 2 a.m. Sunday where they found Jamea Jonae Harris, 23, of Birmingham, shot dead at the scene.
No bond has been posted at this time.
The University of Alabama issued the following statement related to the incident:
"The University of Alabama's utmost priority is the safety and well-being of the campus community. We are grieved by the incident that occurred near campus last night and extend our deepest condolences to the victim's family and friends.
"We are grateful for the quick and thorough response of the law enforcement and emergency response teams, and we will continue to fully support the ongoing investigation. We were made aware of the recent charge against student-athlete Darius Miles; he has been removed from campus and is no longer a member of the Alabama men's basketball team."
