The Alabama Department of Public Health is advertising the WIC program "no matter your family structure."

In an advertisement posted on Twitter, ADPH posted a photograph featuring a same-sex couple holding a child. The ad, which shows two men playing with a baby, is designed to promote ADPH's supplemental nutrition program, called WIC (Women, Infants and Children)

"Parents and guardians of all kinds can apply for WIC benefits for their children," the post reads. "No matter your family structure, WIC is here to help you and your children get the nutritional support you need."

The government-funded WIC program is designed to help mothers and children purchase approved foods if they fall below a specific income limit.
