The Alabama Farmers Federation announced on Monday that it has endorsed Republican Bill McAdams for House District 40 (HD40), which covers portions of Calhoun and Cleburne counties.

“Bill McAdams will be a strong voice for business and for agriculture in the Legislature,” said Doug Trantham, Calhoun County Farmers Federation president. “He will be a leader who represents conservative ideals, so we support him whole-heartedly.”

“I am proud to receive the endorsement of the Alabama Farmers Federation,” said McAdams. “I have always supported the same conservative values they have and realize that agriculture is a huge economic force in our state.”

McAdams has owned Grace Contracting, LLC for over 22 years, where he also works as a general contractor and homebuilder. McAdams is a volunteer fire chief for the White Plains Fire Department, a member of the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Calhoun County.

Gayla Blanton, Julie Borrelli, Katie Exum, Bill Lester, McAdams, Chad Robertson, and Jakob Williamson are all running in the May 24 Republican primary for HD40. Incumbent State Rep. K. L. Brown (R-Jacksonville) is retiring from the Alabama Legislature.
