The Albertville realtor charged with trafficking illegal aliens into the United States as part of a criminal enterprise has pleaded guilty in a Texas federal court.
Arely Guzman was rearraigned on Monday, when she entered her felony guilty plea. U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph Cordova of the Western District of Texas oversaw the proceedings. Guzman was given a plea agreement, the details of which were disclosed in court but have not been made public.
Guzman was set to have her case heard by a jury after pleading not guilty in January following her arrest in DeKalb County in December 2025. After several delays, her attorneys requested a rearraignment to change her plea.
Guzman was well known in the Albertville community as a real estate agent and an outspoken critic of the Trump administration’s immigration policies and local law enforcement for enforcing immigration law.
She was arrested on December 19, 2025, on charges of doxxing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. That arrest alerted Homeland Security Investigators in Eagle Pass, Texas, to her location.
Guzman is also accused of aggravated shooting of an illegal alien, extortion and hostage taking in Houston, Texas, in June 2024, and assault in DeKalb County in May 2025, along with her alleged partner, Alex Corona.
