Albertville realtor Arely Guzman is back in police custody while awaiting a jury trial in Texas to face charges of conspiracy to transport illegal aliens, causing serious bodily injury and placing lives in jeopardy.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Mathew Watters with the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Texas ordered Guzman to be detained without bond after she entered a plea of not guilty and waived her right to an arraignment and detention hearing.

Jury selection and trial have been set for March 17, following a docket call and rearraignment on March 10. Any potential plea agreement must be submitted to the court before March 6.

Guzman had been on house arrest in her Albertville residence since early January. She was forced to wear an ankle monitor, and her movement outside her residence was limited.

Guzman is well known in the Albertville community as a real estate agent and an outspoken critic of the Trump administration’s immigration policies and local law enforcement for enforcing immigration law.

She was arrested on December 19, 2025, on charges of doxxing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. That arrest alerted Homeland Security Investigators in Eagle Pass, Texas — where the alleged trafficking took place — of Guzman’s location.

Guzman is also accused of aggravated shooting of an illegal alien, extortion and hostage taking in Houston, Texas, in June 2024, and assault in DeKalb County in May 2025, along with her alleged partner, Alex Corona.
