A 14-year-old female unable to consent due to physical helplessness or mental incapacitation.

Alleged sodomy, sexual abuse and human trafficking.

Those are the components of the charges leveled against Pablo Mendoza, a 23-year-old illegal alien, by Coffee County law enforcement officials.

For most people, especially those in and around Enterprise, where this alleged crime took place, it rises to a level that should draw the concern of elected officials, including federal officeholders who are, in part, responsible for immigration policy.

However, according to an entry from AL(dot) com's Howard Koplowitz published late Friday, federal elected officials who voice their disapproval of the Biden administration, including those with oversight authority over the agencies potentially responsible for Mendoza's illegal presence in Alabama, are "political."

The website for the once-daily, now-defunct Birmingham News, Press-Register and Huntsville Times, owned by Alabama Media Group, a subsidiary of New York billionaires Donald and Samuel Newhouse's Advance Publications, seems to take issue with comments from U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and an oversight investigation launched by U.S. Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Tom McClintock (R-Calif.).

Koplowitz alleged that "Republicans paint undocumented immigrants as violent criminals responsible for an uptick in crime across the country."

However, he seemed to ignore that many Republicans decry crimes committed by illegal aliens because they were crimes that would not have occurred and have spared the victims had the federal government, under the direction of President Joe Biden, exercised its authority to enforce federal immigration law at the U.S.-Mexico border.
