Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP) chairman John Wahl plans to attend a “Challenge the Chairman” on the quad of the University of Alabama on Tuesday where students can ask questions and pose challenges regarding the upcoming presidential election.

The University of Alabama College Republicans is hosting an “interactive” event in the lead-up to the November 5 presidential election. The event is scheduled for Tuesday from 3-5 p.m. at a table in front of UA’s Gorgas Library. At the table, students will be able to question and challenge Wahl on the party’s stances on specific issues, the direction of the GOP and the upcoming election.

Wahl, who also serves as the vice chairman of the Southern region of the Republican National Convention, said the event would help ALGOP continue the national party trend of reaching out to younger potential voters to discuss Republican policies and priorities. He also suggested the possibility of hosting similar events on campuses across the state.

He continued, “This event allows us to have meaningful, one-on-one conversations about the issues they care about and show them how conservative principles will lead to opportunity and prosperity for both students and Americas in general. We’re proud to start this series of events right here in Tuscaloosa and hope to expand ‘Challenge the Chairman’ to campuses across Alabama.”
