In an increasingly troubling trend in the state’s capital city, another teenager has been charged with murder in the case of a July shooting that left one 16-year-old dead and another seriously injured.

The Montgomery Police Department (MPD) announced on Thursday that it had charged Marquet Caldwell, 19, of Montgomery, with two counts of capital murder and one count of attempted murder.

Caldwell was taken into custody on Tuesday by MPD and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under no bond.

Court documents allege that Caldwell shot the two teens during a drug robbery on July 24.

This is the most recent in a trend of murder charges being brought against teen suspects in Montgomery.
