There is no greater moment in the Christian calendar, no greater moment in human history, than the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Easter is not simply a holiday marked by springtime traditions or pastel colors. It is the very heart of the Gospel, the triumphant declaration that death has been defeated, sin has lost its grip, and the promise of eternal life has been fulfilled in Christ.

Too often, the gravity and glory of Easter is drowned out by commercial noise or treated as just another long weekend.

But Easter is not just a day, it is The Day. A day that split history in two. A day that reminds every believer that the grave is not the end. The stone was rolled away not just from Christ’s tomb, but from the heavy burden of hopelessness humanity carried since Adam’s sinful fall. The resurrection is not metaphorical. It is real. And because He lives, so shall we.

Easter fulfills the promise God made from the beginning: to crush the serpent’s head, to redeem His people, to bring light out of darkness. In rising from the dead, Jesus proved that He is not just a good teacher, not just a prophet, but the Son of God, the Messiah, the Savior of the world. His empty tomb is not a symbol of loss, but it is the evidence of victory. It is the guarantee of the believer’s future glory.

This is why Easter should be set apart. It must be honored with reverence, awe, and, above all, joy: the joy of Mary in the garden when she heard her name called by the risen Lord; the joy of the disciples when He appeared in their midst; the joy of Thomas when his doubt melted into worship.

That same joy should fill our hearts today, because we are the inheritors of that victory.

Easter is a promise that was kept and one that continues – that Christ is coming again, and that death will be no more.

Let Easter not be swallowed up by brunches and bunnies. Let it be a holy day, The Holy Day, where we rise with the dawn to declare, "He is risen!" waiting for the response, "He has risen indeed!" Let churches ring with praise, let voices lift in worship, and let every heart remember: “This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Easter is not about what we do. It’s about what Christ has done! He died. He rose. He reigns.

And for that, we rejoice.

I pray you and your family have a very blessed Resurrection Sunday!
