BamaCarry PAC is celebrating the defeat of Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones by Cam Hunt.
"BamaCarry PAC just helped defeat the most anti-Constitutional Carry Sheriff in Alabama," the group said in a statement sent on election night.
BamaCarry and the National Association for Gun Rights PAC endorsed Hunt in February.
"Jones was one of the loudest, most vocal opponents of Alabama's Constitutional Carry law during the 2022 fight," the group explained.

"He used his badge, his office, and his political influence to lobby against the God-given right of law-abiding Alabamians to carry without having to beg the government for permission," BamaCarry added.
Cam Hunt ran as the pro-gun choice after early meetings with BamaCarry leadership, and Lee County gun owners made their voices heard loud and clear.
Jones served as sheriff for nearly 30 years.
