U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is set to host a “Big Announcement Event” in Sylvania on August 15.
Sylvania, located in northeastern Alabama's DeKalb County, is adjacent to Barry Moore's wife Heather's hometown Rainsville.
Moore told 1819 News in May he was considering running for U.S. Senate in 2026.
U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) has announced that he’s running for governor in 2026 rather than seeking re-election to the Senate, leaving his seat up for grabs.
“Join Congressman Barry Moore for a BIG announcement on Friday. August 15th! Come out and enjoy food, live music, and a special announcement. Please come as you are, it's casual dress!” the event page on Facebook said.
Moore was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020. He won the race for AL-1 in 2024, defeating incumbent U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) after Alabama's district lines were redrawn per a court order.
