Cathi Bradford has won the Republican primary for State Board of Education, District 6, ousting incumbent Marie Manning.

Bradford earned 54% of the vote with 35,615 ballots cast compared to Manning's 30,388, according to unofficial results on the Alabama Secretary of State's website.

Manning represented the sixth district for one term after being elected to the board in 2022.

Bradford, a veteran and experienced teacher in Cullman, ran on a platform of restoring education to basics and instilling patriotism in the classroom.

She will face off against Democratic challenger Angela Morgan in the November General Election.
