Police say they arrested a Dothan man Thursday for shooting a school bus, among other vehicles, with a BB gun.

A Dothan City school bus was struck around 3 p.m. around Fortner Street and South Park Avenue in Dothan. Children were on board at the time, but none were injured.

Officers from the Dothan Police Department (DPD) began searching for suspects around the area. Meanwhile, two other victims reported their vehicles had been shot at while traveling through the same area.

DPD officers determined that the shots had been fired from a front yard in the 900 block of Fortner Street. Police surrounded the residence and detained everyone inside, including 20-year-old Jacquette Daquin Townsend.

There, they found three compressed air-powered BB gun replicas of real guns. They believe one was the gun used to shoot at the vehicles.

DPD charged Townsend with three counts of throwing or shooting deadly or dangerous missiles into an occupied vehicle. His bond was set at $45,000.
