U.S. House Republican Conference chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) endorsed Caroleene Dobson on Wednesday.
Dobson is one of several GOP candidates nationwide Stefanik’s E-PAC is endorsing in 2024.
Dobson, a Republican, is facing off against Shomari Figures, a Democrat, in Alabama’s newly drawn second congressional district. Political observers expect the general election race to be competitive and one that could decide which party controls the House after the November election.
According to E-PAC’s website, the PAC helps lead the national effort to increase the number of Republican women elected to Congress.
“Congresswoman Stefanik has defended traditional values, worked to lower gas prices, and confronted college presidents who have allowed anti-Semitism and pro-Hamas sentiment to run rampant on their campuses, but she needs more conservatives standing alongside her in Congress," Dobson said in a statement to 1819 News. "I appreciate the confidence and support that E-PAC and Congresswoman Stefanik have placed in my candidacy for Alabama's Second Congressional District. I commend their fight for conservative values and stand ready to join them in the ongoing battle."
