An Anniston City Schools employee is causing a stir after parents raised concerns over his alleged criminal past.

Scottie Patillo was charged with sexual contact by a school employee and second-degree sexual abuse last September.

Patillo was a girls' basketball coach and athletic director at Randolph County's Woodland High School at the time of the alleged incident.

He resigned last July and was quickly hired by Anniston City Schools to work at Golden Springs Elementary.

Patillo subjected a child less than 16 years old but older than 12 to sexual contact, according to an indictment. He pleaded not guilty.

Anniston City Schools has not answered media inquiries into the matter.
