On Thursday, Lloyd Peeples qualified to run for House District 48. Peeples is the senior trial counsel in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Alabama. He announced his candidacy in November.
"Our campaign is being driven by business leaders, parents, and families across the district who share our vision for stronger schools, safer streets, and an economy that allows our kids to build their futures right here at home," said Peeples. "I'm grateful for the broad support and trust we're seeing."

According to a statement, Peeples has seen broad-based support from individual donors and small businesses since entering the race in November.
Campaign finance reports show 30 new individual and small business contributors in December alone and a total of 63 individual and small business donors, more than any Republican candidate running for the Alabama State House since filing.
Peeples loaned his campaign $250,000 on November 10.
Peeples will challenge incumbent State Rep. Jim Carns (R-Vestavia Hills).
