Hezekiah Belfon was arrested in St. Augustine, Fla., Thursday for allegedly opening fire on a high school football game in October 2021.

According to AL.com, Belfon has been on the run since he was identified as a suspect.

On October 15, Belfon, Jai Montrell Scott Jr. and another unidentified juvenile allegedly exited Ladd-Peebles Stadium during Vigor High School’s homecoming football game against Williamson High School.

The three allegedly re-entered the game with guns. Law enforcement has accused Belfon of opening fire, injuring five.

When Belfon was identified as a suspect, he fled to Troy, where he stayed with Troy State University wide receiver Reggie Todd. Todd was charged with hindering prosecution, but his attorney claimed Todd had no idea how much trouble Belfon was in and was merely hosting an uninvited guest.

Todd was indefinitely suspended from Troy’s football team, and his charge was bound over to a grand jury in November.

Both Scott and Belfon face five counts of attempted murder.
