Prior to adjourning for the week, the Alabama House of Representatives held a joint prayer for House Minority Leader Anthony Daniels (D-Huntsville) and State Rep. Sam Jones (D-Mobile), who both have "immediate health concerns."

Lawmakers did not immediately enumerate the ailment affecting the 42-year-old Daniels or the 77-year-old Jones.

State Rep. Patrick Sellers (D-Birmingham) took the podium on Thursday evening prior to the end of the legislative day, taking a moment of personal privilege to ask the body to stand in silence and then joined the other ministers in praying for the pair.

Sources have confirmed to 1819 News that Daniels was hospitalized. The exact cause of his hospitalization has not been publicly confirmed.

Likewise, Jones' precise ailment has yet to be publicly announced.
