Friday, during an appearance on Mobile talk radio's "Midday Mobile" on FM Talk 106.5, U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) predicted a shake-up in Democratic presidential politics.

According to Alabama's first congressional district representative, the scandal-plagued President Joe Biden would succumb to the pressure and not run in the 2024 presidential election.

"[I] still say Biden won't be a candidate," he said. "I don't think he's going to make it to the end. I'm not talking about physically. I'm just talking about with all the problems he's got that's coming together at one time. It does not look good at all."

Carl agreed with host Sean Sullivan that Biden was a worse candidate than former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democrat nominee for president. He predicted Democrats would eventually coalesce behind California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D).
