Elon Musk is a modern-day Frederick Douglass. His “Twitter takeover” is a significant victory in the battle for Liberty over Tyranny; it should be remembered and applauded for generations to come.
On Dec. 9, 1860, Frederick Douglass delivered a speech at Boston’s Music Hall, entitled “A Plea for Free Speech in Boston,” in which Douglass commented on the essential value of free speech.
In my view, this speech by Douglass is one of the most important statements about the First Amendment ever spoken in American history. His viewpoint helped me to better understand the power of free speech and the uniqueness of America: our rights are given to us by God.
I have said this before: Marxist-Liberals have no answer for Frederick Douglass’ liberty message, and they never will.
Frederick Douglass is by far America’s greatest thinker, writer and speaker on Liberty and human rights. You will understand why I make this declaration as you read his powerful quotes:
Excerpts from “A Plea for Free Speech in Boston”
“No right was deemed by the fathers of the Government more sacred than the right of speech,” said Douglass. “It was in their eyes, as in the eyes of all thoughtful men, the great moral renovator of society and government. Daniel Webster called it a homebred right, a fireside privilege.”
Douglass believed, “Liberty is meaningless where the right to utter one’s thoughts and opinions has ceased to exist. That, of all rights, is the dread of tyrants. It is the right which they first of all strike down. They know its power.”
Douglass continued, “Thrones, dominions, principalities, and powers, founded in injustice and wrong, are sure to tremble, if men are allowed to reason of righteousness, temperance, and of a judgment to come in their presence. Slavery cannot tolerate free speech.”
Definitely a “friend of freedom,” Elon Musk understands the power of free speech. This is the reason why Elon went after Twitter ─ a global social media giant that only promoted ideas and views that aligned with their own.
Twitter, the tyrants of free speech, fostered an environment that did not welcome a diversity of thought. Opinions that did not line up with Twitter’s narrative were labeled as “harmful and abusive”.
America needs more affluent people like Mr. Musk ─ having the moral courage to stand for our God-given right of free speech. Give Elon the social credit he rightfully deserves.
Thank you, Elon, for being a Frederick Douglass Liberty Ambassador. Or should I say ─ a Frederick Douglass Republican.
