Auburn’s star golfer, Jackson Koivun, etched himself into the Southeastern Conference history books as the league named him Player of the Year for the third consecutive season, making him the first-ever to accomplish that feat.

Koivun earned the award after six wins in eight starts since February. He is averaging 67.88 strokes per round, over a whole stroke better than the program’s current single-season record, which he set last season.

In 37 career appearances, Koivun has earned 32 top 10s (.865) and 26 top fives (.703). He’s won more times (11) than he’s finished outside the top 10.

Koivun notched his third consecutive individual title at the SEC Men’s Championship two weeks ago, a feat only accomplished once prior – in 1967 by B.R. McLendon of LSU.

Highlighted by Koivun’s achievement, eight Auburn golfers secured awards from the league, with Jake Albert also taking home the Freshman of the Year award. Earning six top 20s and three top fives, Albert is making himself the clear choice for the award. He ranks 50 spots higher than the league’s next freshman at No. 36 in the nation.

This year marks the first since 2010 that the Player and Freshman of the Year have come from the same school – Russell Henley and Bryden MacPherson from Georgia.

Josiah Gilbert joined Koivun on the first team for the first time in his career after earning Second Team last year and All-Freshman Team in 2024.

Albert and Cayden Pope were named Second-Team ALL-SEC players.

The only player to go undefeated for the Tigers during match play at the SEC Championship, Logan Reilly, was named to the All-Freshman Team.

No. 1 overall seed Auburn begins its postseason journey on May 18-20 at the NCAA Athens Regional, a qualifier to the NCAA Championship, which is set for May 27 – June 3 at the Omni LaCosta Champions Course in Carlsbad, California.
