Former Auburn golfer Jackson Koivun capped his amateur career with a final score of 5-over par at the 126th U.S. Open on Sunday, sharing the lowest amateur score in the event and finishing tied for 23rd place overall.

For the second time in three seasons, Auburn’s men’s golf team secured a national championship on Wednesday evening at Omni LaCosta North Course in Carlsbad, Calif. 

Auburn’s star golfer, Jackson Koivun, etched himself into the Southeastern Conference history books as the league named him Player of the Year for the third consecutive season, making him the first-ever to accomplish that feat. Auburn golfer Jackson Koivun won his third straight SEC Championship and led No. 1 Auburn to its third consecutive stroke play title on Friday at Sea Island Golf Club.

The Auburn men's golf team picked up a 3-2 win over Florida State to secure the team national championship.
