A man is officially charged in connection to a wild crash that happened on New Year’s Day in Mountain Brook.
Wilder Jackson Williams, 24, is charged with driving under the combined influence of alcohol and controlled substance, speeding, improper lane usage and reckless endangerment.
Mountain Brook Police said Williams crashed a Tesla into a home on Azalea Road at 2:30 a.m. on January 1.
“It was determined the vehicle was traveling westbound on Euclid Avenue at speeds in excess of 100 mph,” police said in a statement. “The driver failed to navigate a curve in the road, stuck a curb, and crashed into a residence.”
The home was significantly damaged. No one in the house was injured.
Mountain Brook Fire Department extricated Williams from the vehicle and was transported to the hospital for injuries.
He turned himself in to Mountain Book Police on January 31.
