On Monday, the Mobile-based Center for Reproductive Medicine (CRM) resumed operations after a more-than-a-month pause in the wake of an Alabama Supreme Court decision granting in-vitro fertilization (IVF) embryos protection under Alabama's Wrongful Death of a Minor Act.

"We are thrilled to announce that the Center for Reproductive Medicine (CRM) will be resuming full services beginning April 1, 2024!" the clinic wrote on its Facebook page. "We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering patience and understanding while we navigated the challenges posed by the Alabama Supreme Court decision and the subsequent legislation passed by the Alabama legislature regarding IVF. After careful deliberation and thorough preparations, we look forward to welcoming you back to CRM and continuing our journey together in building families and fulfilling dreams."

CRM is led by Dr. George Koulianos, who also is the president of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama.
