An unnamed Mobile County Public School System (MCPSS) employee who sent out an internal email to school staff giving a “to-do list” to shield students from potential U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to Mobile’s Fox 10 News.
According to WKRG, an internal MCPSS email from “KP- the RIZZ, Mother of Exiles” was sent to MCPSS staff on Monday advising them to “text me on my cell if ICE shows up anywhere closeby.”
“For now, MCPSS is still a safe place for our children, so encourage families to consider that option to their comfort level. Please let them know that they will not be penalized for keeping their children home as a precaution,” the MCPSS employee said in the email.
An MCPSS official denied the email was the official policy of the school system.
