On Friday, U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) unveiled his No More Funding for NPR Act of 2025, which would prohibit federal funding for National Public Radio (NPR).
The bill would prevent taxpayer dollars from going to NPR, which he described as "nothing more than a mouthpiece for the far left."
"NPR has become nothing more than a mouthpiece for the far left, serving as an extension of the Democratic Party's communication arm," Strong said while introducing his legislation. "Hard-earned taxpayer dollars should not be used to fund liberal propaganda. It is past time for Congress to stop subsidizing media that undermines the values and beliefs of everyday Americans."
In 1967, the nonprofit Corporation for Public Broadcasting was created by federal law to distribute funding to public media organizations like the Public Broadcasting Service and NPR.
Strong's office noted, "Despite its mandate to create a more informed public, Congressional oversight and investigations have shown that NPR consistently skews reporting to favor liberal opinions, failing to deliver objective and unbiased reporting for the American people."
