On Sunday, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) announced fines for the University of Oklahoma and Auburn University for field-rushing incidents following the completion of each university's football game on Saturday.
Fans stormed the field in Norman, Okla., after the Alabama Crimson Tide 24-3 defeat to the Oklahoma Sooners. Fans also took to the field after Auburn's four-overtime 43-41 win over Texas A&M.
The SEC levied a $200,000 fine against Oklahoma for fans "entering the field prior to the end of the Alabama game, which caused a delay in the contest."
The league cited Auburn's $100,000 fine as "a first offense under the league's current access to competition area policy that was revised at the SEC Spring Meetings in 2023."
Auburn's fine was the fourth such since 2013.
In 2013, Auburn was fined $5,000 after the so-called Kick Six victory. In 2016, Auburn faced a $100,000 fine for storming the court after defeating the University of Kentucky in basketball.
Auburn faced fines in 2017 and 2019 after wins in those years' Iron Bowl match-ups against Alabama.
Alabama has yet to face penalties for violating the SEC's access to competition area policy due to fans entering the playing field.
However, it is the third time this season the SEC has issued penalties against a member institution for field-rushing against the Alabama Crimson Tide football team.
