The Ozark Dale County Library Board made changes during a meeting Wednesday to protect juveniles in the children and teen sections of the library.

In response to complaints, concerns and requests to review several books that contained sexually explicit material, the board agreed to place stickers on books to indicate age appropriateness. Also, all children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult at least 19 years or older.

Although many of the original complaints were about LGBTQ books made available to children, board members said the changes were not in response to the LGBTQ books but in response to inappropriate material.

The library board meeting was streamed live on Facebook and is available online.

The changes made will be available online next month.
