On Tuesday, Bill "Bubba" Bussey and Rick Burgess of "The Rick & Bubba Show" reacted to the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases and the immediate response to require masking.
Bussey and Burgess argued against the return of requiring masks and shutting down the economy. The two acknowledged the virus is "highly transmissible as most viruses are," and Burgess said masking "does more damage than it does good."
"We have been through this now for three solid years, OK?" Burgess outlined. "Why would you do anything that didn't work before? I can't wrap my mind around it. And the mask mandates have no impact, and they do not work. the only thing mask mandates can do is get you acne around your mouth, OK? They don't work. The virus is tiny. This is not bacteria, OK, it's a virus. These things you can get at the store ... they don't help at all."
"They don't work," he added.
Bussey questioned why people were "dead set on going back and using things that didn't work" during the pandemic.
"When you lock down and isolate, we're actually breaking up the biggest weapon we've got, and that is herd immunity," Bussey stated. "And we can't do that again."
"Especially when it's not dangerous," Burgess replied, to which Bussey agreed.
Burgess then emphasized that isolating people and shutting down schools and the economy over a virus was not in the country's best interest.
"It's just ridiculous," he declared. "And this economy cannot take a shutdown again. It's still recovering from the ridiculous shutdown before, which was unnecessary."
The hosts then pointed out the possibility that the return of lockdowns and masking would result in more mail-in voting and, thus, a stealing of the 2024 election.
