The Mike Durant for Senate campaign announced on Thursday that Durant was endorsed by SEAL PAC and SEAL PAC chairman Ryan Zinke. Zinke is a former SEAL Team Six Commander, Congressman and Secretary of the Interior under President Donald J. Trump (R).

"Mike Durant has my complete and total endorsement for U.S. Senate. America and Alabama need strong conservative warriors like Mike that will defend freedom and liberty,” said Zinke following the endorsement.

Durant thanked Zinke for the endorsement.

“Alabama needs another pro-Trump patriot fighting for us in the U.S. Senate,” Durant stated. “I have spent my whole life fighting for my country, and I am signing up for one more tour. I am humbled to have the support of SEAL PAC and Secretary Zinke. I look forward to serving with my fellow conservative veterans in Congress and delivering for the great state of Alabama.”

Durant is a veteran and successful businessman who owned, until recently, an aerospace company based in Huntsville that he started himself.

Lillie Boddie, Katie Britt, Mo Brooks, Karla DuPriest, Durant, and Jake Schafer are all running in the Republican primary for Senate.

Lanny Jackson, Will Boyd, and Brandaun Dean are running in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate.

Both major party primaries will be on May 24.
