Misdemeanor stalking charges against Andrew Clarke, a Dothan meteorologist for WDHN, were dropped on Thursday morning.
Clarke was arrested in January after a waitress said Clarke allegedly followed her from her place of employment. She also alleged Clarke showed up at her restaurant, requested assignment to one of her tables, and hung around for hours, according to WTVY.
"This case lacked merit and, because of that, never made it to trial," John C. White, Clarke's attorney, told WTVY. "This is justice for Mr. Clarke, who can get on with his life following this unfortunate incident."
Clarke was arrested just 30 minutes after he appeared on the news on a Saturday night in January. Clarke hasn't appeared on air since his arrest.
Clarke graduated from Mississippi State in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Professional/Broadcast Meteorology. He worked as a freelance meteorologist for WRBL before graduating, then after earning his degree, was hired in June 2021 by WDHN. He is currently the weekend meteorologist.
