Summerdale Police chief Kevin Brock was officially fired during a special town council meeting Monday.

Summerdale Mayor David Wilson told 1819 News Brock was under a criminal investigation by the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office and that investigators turned over information to the Alabama Attorney General's Office.

The matter is over a property dispute, according to reports.

Monday, the council unanimously voted to terminate Brock’s employment with the town of Summerdale.

Brock served six years in the U.S. Air Force before working at Foley Police Department, Loxley Police Department and with the state of Alabama as a law enforcement officer. He was appointed chief of Summerdale in July 2018.

Until a new chief is appointed, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in Summerdale.
