Sunday, BamaCarry, Alabama's largest state-based grassroots organization devoted to supporting the Second Amendment, endorsed Jared Hudson for U.S. Senate.

"Alabama gun owners do not need another politician who says the right thing on the campaign trail and folds the second the gun control lobby or the Washington swamp starts applying pressure," said Taylor Rhodes, executive vice president of BamaCarry. "Jared Hudson is not some poll-tested politician pretending to understand the Second Amendment. He has carried a gun for a living, served this country as a Navy SEAL, and worked in law enforcement. He understands firsthand why the right to keep and bear arms matters, and he is not going to Washington to manage the decline of our rights. He is going there to fight."

The group spotlighted an often overlooked part of Hudson's career and background. He holds a Federal Firearms License with a Class 3 Special Occupational Taxpayer (SOT).

"Meaning if elected, he would be the only sitting United States Senator who is a federally licensed firearms dealer with machine guns on his books," BamaCarry explained in a statement to its members.

As of today, BamaCarry is the only gun rights organization that has endorsed in the Republican Primary for U.S. Senate in Alabama.

According to the group, "Hudson has made clear he will stand with gun owners on the fights that matter most in Washington: opposing federal gun control and unconstitutional ATF overreach, supporting National Constitutional Carry, and rolling back the laws that have targeted law-abiding Americans for far too long."

"This endorsement is not about political convenience. It is about trust," Rhodes continued. "Jared Hudson understands the Second Amendment is not a second-class right, not a bargaining chip, and not something politicians get to negotiate away behind closed doors. Alabama gun owners needed a clear choice in this primary, and now they have one. BamaCarry is proud to endorse Jared Hudson because we believe he will fight for gun owners in Washington and will not flinch, fold, or sell us out when the pressure comes."

Hudson runs The Shooting Institute.

Last month, BamaCarry released its legislative endorsements. The National Association for Gun Rights PAC has also endorsed in the primary election. Their endorsements closely mirrored those of BamaCarry, with a few changes. NAGR's only statewide endorsement was John Wahl for Lt. Governor.

The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund made their endorsements in the 2026 primary. The group endorsed U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) for governor. The only contested statewide primary election the group endorsed was for the office of attorney general. The NRA-PVF endorsed Katherine Robertson, the chief prosecutor in the Alabama attorney general's office.
