The Tim James for Governor campaign introduced the formation of its leadership team.

“Over the past two months, the Tim James Campaign has been organizing statewide for the most significant grassroots mobilization of any Alabama campaign in recent history," a press release from the campaign read. "Part of that process has included assembling a dynamic and experienced state leadership team as well as recruiting county coordinators for every county in the state.”

“In a low-turnout Republican primary, voter contact has always been a historic difference-maker,” said campaign chairman Bill Armistead. “With our team and level of organization, all the way down to the precinct level, we are confident that Tim James will be the next governor of Alabama."

The Campaign Leadership Team includes:

  • Bill Armistead, Chairman - former State Senator and former Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party

  • Don Carmichael, Finance Chairman - Co-CEO of The Champion Group, a non-profit fundraising company

  • John Giles, Vice Chairman - former Chairman of the Christian Coalition of Alabama

  • Suzelle Josey, Senior Policy Advisor - businesswoman and former candidate for State Senate

  • Ann Eubank, Co-Chairman for Policy and Communications - Chair of Legislative Watchdogs and former State Co-Chair for the Ted Cruz for President Campaign

  • Byron Shehee, Campaign Manager - former Campaign Manager for Congressman Rick Allen and consultant for United States Term Limits

  • Elizabeth Jordan, Communications Director - former Communications Director for the Birmingham Association of REALTORS®

  • DeAnna Morgan, Director of Administration - accountant and owner/operator of a wedding/events company

  • Sue Arnold, Director of Scheduling - retired treasurer of the City of Greenville

  • Leigh Wyatt, Director of Surrogate Scheduling - former grassroots organizer on multiple statewide campaigns

  • Lisa Meadows, Public Relations and Social Media Outreach - former CEO of healthcare company and current CEO of an online clothing company

“It is exciting to see the large number of people throughout Alabama stepping up to take an active role in this very important election,” Armistead stated. “With each passing day, voters are coming to realize the significance of electing Tim James as governor. They see in him a leader who can unite Republican governors across the country to fight back against the continual overreach of the federal government.”

Tim James is a Greenville businessman and the son of two-time Governor Fob James. Tim James previously ran for governor unsuccessfully in 2002 and 2010.

Lindy Blanchard, Lew Burdette, Stacey George, Kay Ivey, Tim James, Donald Trent Jones, Dean Odle, Dave Thomas, and Dean Young are all running in the May 24 Republican primary for Governor.
