Despite not being on the ballot in November, outgoing U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) is predicting good things for Republicans on Election Day.

During an appearance on Mobile radio FM Talk 106.5's "The Jeff Poor Show" on Friday, Carl expressed optimism about the GOP's chances of winning the White House and gaining control of the U.S. Senate.

However, he admitted he was worried about Republicans' chances of holding on to the U.S. House of Representatives.

"I think Trump's going to win. I think Trump's going to win by a two- or three-percent margin, which is huge in a presidential race," Carl explained. "It doesn't sound like much, but a win is a win, and two or three percent is huge."

"I think the Senate — I think we're going to take a couple, if not three, seats in the Senate," he continued. "The House has got me a little worried. We have been in such turmoil among ourselves, the Republican Party."

"I think people have lost a little bit of confidence in us," Carl added. "We should win. I mean, that should go without saying. We've certainly got the strongest message, and we got, you know, we're leaning into that. We'll just have to see how the voters are. You know, voters are fickle."
