The German tourist who went viral during his six-week-long tour of North America for the World Cup has made his way back home, and Alabama left quite the impression on him.
Freddy took in a World Cup friendly last month in Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium, saying that the European mind could not "comprehend" the SEC football atmosphere he was treated to. He amassed over half a million followers on his X feed as he journaled his trip around the country.
Now that he is back in Germany, Freddy said that after visiting the South, the East Coast, the Midwest and portions of Canada, Alabama was one of his top three states. He specifically cited Fairhope as his favorite city.
Freddy described Fairhope as "beautiful" and said he could live there.
During his trip, Freddy fell in love with Alabama's own Ella Langley, a quick-rising country music star from Hope Hull.
After multiple posts about hearing Langley on the radio nonstop on his trip, Langley reached out to Freddy and invited him to a concert. They even got a photo together.
U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) responded to Freddy, telling him he was "always welcome."
