Gardendale police are searching for the person responsible for an attempted armed robbery at a Gardendale jewelry store Wednesday night.
The incident happened around 5 p.m. at Jeff Dennis Jewelers, at 300 Fieldstown Road.
The owner of the store reportedly shot a woman attempting to rob the store, but she got away.
Police were searching for the would-be robber with the help of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
The woman was wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans, and it is believed she was injured. Anyone with information is asked to call the Gardendale Police Department.
