
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) recovered the body of a Jefferson County Bessemer Cutoff assistant district attorney after he fell into Logan Martin Lake Sunday afternoon.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Marine Patrol division and several other agencies worked late into the night after a man drowned while attempting to help dock a pontoon boat.

No lives were lost on Alabama waterways during the Labor Day weekend travel period, which was September 1 through September 4. This was the second year in a row that there were no marine-related fatalities on the three major holidays of the summer: Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day.
