Republican nominee for Alabama's second congressional district, Caroleene Dobson, expressed support for the state of Israel following a recent Iranian missile attack. At the same time, her Democratic opponent, Shomari Figures, has remained silent.

Fears of an all-out war in the Middle East are near an all-time high after Iran launched a series of missile strikes into Israel on Tuesday.

This move comes on the heels of Israeli strategic military strikes made against Iranian terrorist proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon in recent weeks. Iran launched a similar attack against Israel in April in response to Israeli military operations retaliating for the October 7 terrorist raid in Israel by another Iranian proxy, Hamas.

Just like with the Iran missile strike in April, Dobson was swift to condemn the actions of Iran and express support for Israel, while Figures has yet to address the issue.

"My prayers are with the people of Israel as they endure the latest assault of Iranian ballistic missiles," Dobson wrote. "Now more than ever, we must stand with our closest ally as they defend their right to exist."
