Former State Sen. Dick Brewbaker announced on Thursday that State Sen. Will Barfoot (R-Pike Road)and State Rep. Reed Ingram (R-Pike Road) had endorsed his campaign for Congress in Alabama's second district.

Barfoot, who represents Alabama’s District 25, said, “As a life- long resident of the 2nd Congressional District, Dick Brewbaker recognizes the issues that our constituents are facing. He is a strong Christian conservative who will put hard-working American families first and protect our Constitutional Freedoms."

Ingram, a local business owner who serves District 75, said Brewbaker understands the impact of current economic challenges on the community’s families and businesses.

“Dick Brewbaker recognizes the importance of getting our economy back on track," Ingram stated. "Dick is a strong conservative candidate who has the experience to implement measures that will decrease inflation and bolster the success of our community businesses."

In a statement to 1819 News, Brewbaker's campaign said of the endorsements, "Senator Barfoot and Representative Ingram are two of many local politicians who have cited Brewbaker’s ability not only to win the GOP nomination for Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District but to defeat his Democrat opponent on November 5, 2024."

This is Brewbaker's fifth endorsement he has rolled out. Former opponent Wallace Gilberry endorsed the former state lawmaker once he dropped out of the race. A former opponent who did not make the run-off, Hampton Harris, endorsed this week. Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn endorsed in January. Eagle Forum PAC and Veterans for Trump rolled out their endorsements in February.

Brewbaker will face Caroleene Dobson on April 16 in the Republican primary run-off election to decide the Republican nominee.
