MILWAUKEE, Wis. — U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) on Tuesday addressed the Alabama Republican Party delegation on hand for this week's Republican National Convention.

Britt said she was "so excited" to see her friend U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) announced as former President Donald Trump's running mate. She highlighted her close relationship with the Ohio Republican and touted his efforts in the Senate.

"Wesley and I have gotten to know J.D. and [his wife] Usha," Britt told the crowd. "You look at his story, you look at what he's fighting for, you look at his thoughtfulness and his intentionality, whether it's on the Banking Committee, whether it's on the Senate floor. I am so excited about him joining the ticket, and we are obviously really grateful to be able to call them friends."

Immediately after Vance was announced as Trump's VP pick, Britt called Vance "a tremendous voice for parents, families, and hardworking Americans."
