Auburn head basketball coach Bruce Pearl criticized the Biden administration this week for a deal with Iran to swap prisoners and issue a waiver for international banks to transfer $6 billion in frozen Iranian money from South Korea to Qatar without fear of sanctions.
Pearl took to social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday to question the decision and warn it "made Iran's terrorist regime stronger."
"The world just got even more dangerous by another pathetic, weak US foreign policy decision," Pearl stated. "Rather than giving Iran 6 Billion, I would give em a 6 days. Take another hostage and you get 6 hours. We just made Iran's terrorist regime stronger! Free their people! Know your opponent!"
Pearl has been outspoken against President Joe Biden's handling of Iran this year. In July, he spoke out against the White House for suspending most Iran sanctions in a bid to rekindle the Iran nuclear deal. In June, he argued Iran should not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon. He also warned in March that Biden's foreign "has put the world at risk and the potential for greater conflict exists."
