Alabama Republican Party chairman Scott Stadthagen said it is vital that Republicans vote in the August 11 special primary election as Democrats plan to cross party lines.

Given the Democrats' track record of poor candidates, Stadthagen said it was “disappointing but not surprising” that Alabama Democrat Party vice chair Tabitha Isner is pushing them to vote on the Republican ballot.

"It's disappointing but not surprising that the local leadership of the party of accused rapist Graham Platner and New York City Marxist Mayor Zohran Mamdani is encouraging members of her party to vote in the August 11 Republican Party special election primary,” Stadthagen said in a statement to 1819 News.

“The party of socialist giveaways, men in girls' locker rooms and abortion on demand leaves their voters limited choices in our state that defiantly rejects those policies,” he added. “It is of the utmost importance that Republicans vote on August 11 to keep these ideas out of our party. It also underscores the need for our GOP-supermajority legislature to act by limiting voting in partisan primaries to those who are willing to identify with a party formally."

In a Sunday post on X, Isner doubled down on her plans, saying it was a way for Democrats to “get even.”
