Alabama freshman Kai Spears has been identified as the fourth basketball player allegedly present at a fatal shooting near campus in Tuscaloosa on January 15.

According to The New York Times, surveillance footage shows that Spears was a passenger in Brandon Miller's car that was at the scene of the shooting that killed 23-year-old Jamea Jonae Harris.

"I'm sorry, I'm not going to be able to speak about that," Spears told the Times.

The University of Alabama athletics department released a statement to the Times refuting the report.

"Your story is inaccurate," UA stated. "Based on the information we have, there were no current student-athletes present at the scene other than Brandon Miller and Jaden Bradley, who are both fully cooperating witnesses. From the outset, UA Athletics has fully cooperated with law enforcement and supported their investigation."

Former UA player Darius Miles and his friend Michael "Buzz" Davis have been indicted for capital murder, and they are the only ones reportedly present at the shooting to receive any charges.
