The “Respect for Marriage Act” recently signed into law by President Joe Biden is another deceivingly titled mandate that means the exact opposite of what it says it means. It should be titled “The Disrespect for God’s Definition of Marriage Act” because that is exactly what it is. Just like the “Affordable Care Act” and the “Inflation Reduction Act,” they would be considered a joke if it were not so potentially harmful to our freedom and rights. Marxist liberals are the wizards of propaganda.
No one, including the President of the United States, has the authority to change God's divine definition of marriage, of one man and one woman, to something completely different.
The “Respect for Marriage Act” effectively says that if any state government or any court decision defines marriage differently than God’s laws, no matter how absurd and morally despicable that description is, U.S. courts must follow that definition as a standard.
The “Respect for Marriage Act” also mentions that laws cannot ban interracial marriages. In fact, the only laws ever passed banning interracial marriages were passed and enforced by Democrats.
The mentioning of interracial marriages in the “Respect for Marriage Act” is a disingenuous way to trick simple-minded people that any Republicans who oppose Biden’s “Respect for Marriage Act” is a racist. Marxist liberals are the masters of deceit.
Like many other laws passed by a Democratic Congress and signed by a Democratic President, it is symbolically equal to spitting in the face of God. In my view, this law, as with many others, was passed to try to alter and redefine what we know to be true and virtuous.
Those who established our federal government did not have any authority or intent to change God’s laws. Those who run our government today do not have any such authority either. But when Democrats have majorities in both chambers of Congress, they have the POWER to fool many of us about what they can do.
The inverse relationship between government and people is based on POWER and RIGHTS. When the POWER of government increases, our rights decrease. Liberty is always under attack by oppressors.
In his first autobiography, “The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass: An American Slave,” Douglass talked about how Master Hugh used his POWER to take away his money:
“I was now getting, as I have said, one dollar and fifty cents per day. I contracted for it; I earned it; it was paid to me; it was rightfully my own; yet, upon each returning Saturday night, I was compelled to deliver every cent of that money to Master Hugh, And why? Not because he earned it,--not because he had any hand in earning it,--not because I owed it to him,--nor because he possessed the slightest shadow of right to it; but solely because he had the power to compel me to give it up.”
The effort of Democratic elites, trying to make themselves more powerful than God, is very similar to what the Communists do in China. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) wants their people to bow down to them and their government instead of bowing down to and obeying God. Marxist-liberals want Americans to accept Democratic lies as truth. They are trying to change our worship, from God to government.
Are “We the People” paying a price for disobeying God, our Creator this way? It certainly appears that we are. Whether we wanted to let it happen or not, these ungodly Democratic elites are now in control of our federal government.
What Democrats want is to use laws like these to warp and twist the decisions of our people and our court system against people of the Judeo-Christian faith. We must stop electing ungodly people to be our leaders. It won't just be the politicians who will bear the consequences of their ungodly decisions. It will also be the people that these politicians govern.
I'm often reminded of Frederick Douglass' 1850 speech, "The Nature of Slavery." This speech is so appropriate to what we see occurring in our nation, especially with the Biden Administration’s “Respect for Marriage Act."
Douglass warned us about the “first aim” of oppressors:
“The first work of slavery is to mar and deface those characteristics of its victim which distinguish men from things, and persons from property. Its first aim is to destroy all sense of high moral and religious responsibility. It reduces man to a mere machine. It cuts him off from his Maker, it hides him from the laws of God, and leaves him to grope his way from time to eternity in the dark, under the arbitrary and despotic control of frail, depraved, and sinful fellowmen.”
The slave government, run by the Biden Administration and Marxist liberals, seeks to get rid of our sense of high moral and religious responsibility. They want to cut us off from God. Moreover, they would like to hide us from the laws of God.
It is my prayer that one day, Biden and others will turn from the error in their ways. In the interim, we must stand toe-to-toe with them and crush their efforts to trash the word of God and transform our nation into a communist country.
