GUNTERSVILLE — Caroleene Dobson is running for Alabama Secretary of State on a platform that prioritizes election integrity, including a plan to prevent leftist groups from manipulating voter registration.

In addition to cleaning up voter rolls and requiring valid ID, Dobson spoke during a Marshall County Republican Women’s Club meeting Thursday night in Guntersville about how groups backed by infamous Democrat donor George Soros have tried to infiltrate the voting process.

“We need to be prepared for far-left activist out-of-state groups trying to manipulate our voter registration laws, trying to undermine the security of our elections,” she said.

“In 2024, in South Alabama, in the Second Congressional District, there were George Soros-funded groups even in rural Alabama trying to illegally register voters. We have got to be on the offense. As we’ve seen with the persecution of President Trump, when the left can’t win fair and square, they resort to lawfare. So we need to be ready for when those types of attacks happen.”

Dobson said she would request that legislators establish an “election integrity division” within the Secretary of State’s Office to pursue election security issues, including fraud.

Currently, the office has no investigative or prosecuting powers, according to current Secretary Wes Allen.
