
Kristin Nelson, a Republican, won a resounding victory over her Democrat opponent, Hazel Floyd, during a special election on Tuesday, earning 84,7% of the votes cast.

Chambers County Republican Party chairwoman Kristin Nelson handily defeated Democratic nominee Hazel Floyd in the House District 38 special election on Tuesday night.

Kristin Nelson has defeated Garrett Dixon in the runoff to be the Republican nominee for House District 38. The special election was to fill the vacancy left by State Rep. Debbie Wood (R-Valley).

Micah Messer has endorsed Garrett Dixon in the House District 38 Republican primary runoff special election against Kristin Nelson. Messer finished third in the October 21 primary.

Governor Kay Ivey announced the special election dates for Alabama House District 38 on Friday.
