
Kristin Nelson, a Republican, won a resounding victory over her Democrat opponent, Hazel Floyd, during a special election on Tuesday, earning 84,7% of the votes cast.

Chambers County Republican Party chairwoman Kristin Nelson handily defeated Democratic nominee Hazel Floyd in the House District 38 special election on Tuesday night.

Kristin Nelson has defeated Garrett Dixon in the runoff to be the Republican nominee for House District 38. The special election was to fill the vacancy left by State Rep. Debbie Wood (R-Valley).

Kristin Nelson and Garrett Dixon will now go head to head in a runoff election after neither candidate received more than 50% of the vote in Tuesday's Special Election Primary for House District 38.
