President Joe Biden is out. His campaign is officially over, though most of the world knew it long ago. Still, the lies that were told deserve accountability. Liberal leftist elites have been advertising a flawed product.

Sometimes advertising ends up bigger than the product it advertises. The product becomes secondary to the presentation. Phrases and mascots designed to promote others become embedded in our social consciousness. Remember “Where’s the Beef?” from the ’80s? Or jingles like “plop, plop, fizz, fizz,” or “I am stuck on Band-Aids”?

I love one from more recent years featuring three frumpy ladies, one of whom is determined to avoid the whole social media thing by creating her own low-tech version of a “wall.” One of the other ladies comes to her feet and says, “That’s not how this works! That’s not how any of this works!” It cracks me up every time.

That phrase has become a pop culture staple. Somebody has a knuckleheaded idea and you can expect to hear it!

It’s a perfect fit for some of the political knuckleheadedness we are watching right now. Something onerous, even dangerous, with potential for negative effects on the constitutional liberties that make our country great.

Democrat elites are staging a soft coup. That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.

Mere weeks ago, the left poo-pooed the idea that Joe Biden was a flawed candidate. Party elite rallied around their man despite the low ebb of non-energy he exuded. His inability to inspire at every public event was becoming a black hole for the Democratic party, sucking in the surrounding stars and planets in their liberal galaxy. Yet, they trudged on because the polls told them they could maintain the lie. They could hold onto power.

Prop him up! Use a teleprompter! Cover for him in the media! Shield him from interviews! Get Jill on stage to escort him off!

Those same voices that derided anyone who dared question Biden’s fitness for office are now perpetrating the greatest lie of all by pretending that somehow, overnight (!), Biden lost his ability to run. The hypocrisy is staggering. The elites are now telling us that Democrat primary voters just voted for someone who is no longer fit to run, yet he is somehow fit to remain in office. It requires suspension of disbelief.

This is not remorse for bestial behavior toward a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” No, they are casting Biden aside because the polls suddenly showed they can’t win, and winning is everything.

Democrat elites are now openly plotting a soft coup. An overthrow of government processes. An unarmed insurrection, which history dictates, can be far more politically destructive than the use of force. The same avarice for power, the same willingness to destroy anyone on the right, is now playing out on the left, but it’s the same people doing it to their own this time.

Out from the smoky backrooms and into the light of day springs a plan to subvert the will of millions of their own loyal Democrat voters. Voters who were told Biden was sharp and vigorous. Voters who trusted, perhaps naively, and yet voted as a matter of constitutional right for the lie that their leaders told them.

Democrat voters now face their votes being voided simply because liberal elites lied and are desperate to cling to power.

That’s not how this works, that’s not how any of this works.

To my Democrat friends, I’m sorry you were lied to. I am. You deserve better. I may not agree with left-leaning policies, but I never enjoy seeing folks treated like rented mules. You gave the Democrat elites your vote, but they didn’t really need it. Apparently, they can change the process any time they want.

What are my Democrat friends going to do about it? It is a lie, but my Democrat friends are the ones who were lied to.

The same people who yelled “Russia, Russia, Russia!” and hid the Hunter Biden laptop, while swearing that Trump would destroy democracy, are now daring to subvert the democratic will of the people … their people!

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi tore former President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech in half from the dais of the House chamber. Rep. Adam Schiff screeched he had seen evidence of collusion that never appeared. Sen. Chuck Schumer called to pack the Supreme Court because of Trump, Trump, Trump. Lawfare was needed. Politicos sought to remove Trump from state ballots. Democrat elites stoked the fears of Democrat voters claiming Trump was a tyrant, while their minions in BLM and Antifa burned whole city blocks.

These were not attacks on the right. They were meant for the left.

Leftist elites perpetrated fear, division and identity politics to keep their own Democrat voters fearfully subdued while propping up the empty husk that now occupies the White House.

When the lies were exposed, they brought out the new lie:

Your vote doesn’t really matter because we know what’s best for you. So just sit down and be quiet, you silly sheep in liberal clothing. We’ve got this. We’re going to subvert the constitutionally-mandated democratic processes, and a few of us liberal-elite-thought-leaders who know better will get you a new candidate that we will pick at the convention, and it will be awesome! And by the way, Trump, Trump, Trump, and Russia, Russia, Russia, and fear, and stuff!

That’s not how this works, that’s not how any of this works.

Again, to my liberal friends, I’m sorry you were lied to. We tried to tell you. The left lied about the right, but we resisted. Now they are feeding their own Democrat voters a pack of lies, built on more lies, and supported by other lies.

A soft coup is in the works.

That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.
