The Georgia Bulldogs were the worst team in the SEC last season, but that did not the No. 1 Tigers from dueling with their familiar foes in a contest that had every fan on the edge of their seat until a Wendell Green, Jr. layup saved the day for Auburn and preserved that No. 1 ranking for a bit longer.
The University of Alabama and Auburn University basketball teams both remain in the top 25 in the country.
On Wednesday, Auburn’s defense once again showed up in a huge way and saved the Tigers following another night of issues on the offensive end.
The Tigers (10-2) defeated the Washington Huskies (9-4, 1-1 PAC-12) 84-61 to complete their west coast trip and head home for Christmas Break.
